I am a trained mediator for family, workplace and community disputes, this includes friends, neighbour, tenant and landlord disagreements. I have taken this career path due to my own personal experiences but to also to help people make decisions when communication breaks down between parties. I believe that mediation can help parties navigate and find lasting resolutions to ongoing disputes, as some disputes can lead to Court where a decision can be imposed on the parties involved, this can also be costly. Mediation is a powerful tool and puts the decision making in the client’s hands as they know what’s best. It gives both parties the opportunity to be heard and understood in a safe environment.
I have worked in the public sector since 2002 and it has led me to have an interesting and varied background which covers therapeutic counselling, customer service, complaints and project management in a range of different areas such as Housing, Public Protection, Environment, Regulation, Mental Health, Older People Services and Bereavement which gives me a varied and deep understanding of human behaviour, communication and the ability to give structure to a difficult situation, these skills helps me create a supportive, safe and empathetic environment to help clients explore their differences and options and to find a resolution that is acceptable to all.
